A 21-year-old Fresno woman was killed Sunday in northwest Fresno following a two-vehicle collision, police said.
The Fresno County Coroner’s Office on Monday identified the woman as Sydney Weakley.
The accident happened along Herndon Avenue just after 9 p.m. Sunday.
Lt. Steve Card said a sport utility vehicle traveling west on Herndon Avenue slammed into the passenger side of a white sedan as it turned onto Herndon from West Avenue.
Never miss a local story.
The driver of the sport utility vehicle was cooperating with police to determine how the crash happened, said Card, who added that the driver was shaken up.
Card said there is no reason to believe alcohol was a factor, but it’s not yet being ruled out as the investigation continues.
Several witnesses were also speaking with police.
