Young children got their turn in the show ring during the Peewee Dairy Cattle Showmanship competition at The Big Fresno Fair on Sunday, Oct. 9, 2016, in Fresno.
The competition features children ages 3-9 who test their showmanship skills by washing and prepping their animals, then showing their dairy cattle and goats.
Donny Rollin, Peewee Dairy Cattle Showmanship judge, said the competition is about the kids presenting the animal to the best of their ability.
“It’s peewee showmanship, so it’s not a lot of pressure,” he said, adding, “These kids are the future showmen here.”
