Lawrence Imperial was appointed by Gov. Jerry Brown Thursday to be administrator of the Veterans Home of California in Fresno.
Imperial, 46, had been the home’s acting administrator and also oversaw the skilled-nursing facility at the home since 2015.
The Veterans Home of California in Fresno is a 300-bed, long-term care facility located on 30 acres. The home opened in October 2013, and offers assisted living, skilled nursing and skilled nursing memory care.
Prior to being hired at the Veterans Home, Imperial was social services director and admissions coordinator at Avalon Health Care in Madera. He was an office manager for a tax and legal forms business and a licensed nursing home administrator at several residential homes.
The position does not require Senate ratification. Imperial will be paid $122,004 annually, according to the Governor’s Office.
