A military Blackhawk helicopter was called in Monday morning to help search-and-rescue teams find a 63-year-old Utah man lost in the High Sierra. Later in the day the man was found, officials said.
Fresno County sheriff’s spokesman Tony Botti said the hiker and his partner were hiking the Pacific Crest Trail near Duck Lake when they became separated. The area is near the border of Fresno-Madera counties, and searchers from both areas took part in the rescue effort.
Botti said there was no information to show the missing hiker is hurt or in danger.
