Tulare County Realtors got their hands dirty on Wednesday helping to build houses instead of selling them.
Volunteers installed siding, painted, ran electrical wires and pulled weeds in a development at North E Street and West Gail Avenue, across from Los Tules Middle School.
“I woke up this morning and had sore spots,” association president Scott Ellis joked on Thursday.
“The most satisfying thing out there is you’re working alongside the homeowner,” he said. “It’s neat working with them and seeing how excited they are to get this house done.”
The volunteer day is one of two major community events held by the association every year. The group also raises money for scholarships.
