The Fresno Association of Realtors will celebrates its 110th anniversary and the installation of its 2015 board of directors at a banquet in Fresno on Friday night.
The association received its charter in May 1905 from the California Real Estate Association and operated out of an office in downtown Fresno. At that time, the Fresno Realty Board was made up of five directors and 25 members.
When the organization outgrew the space, it moved to Clinton Avenue where it operated for 30 years. Now, the FAR office is in northwest Fresno and has 3,400 Realtor and affiliate members.
The association “has promoted the preservation of real property rights and served its membership in developing and promoting programs designed to enhance the members’ ability to successfully conduct their individual business,” for 110 years, the organization said in a news release.
Never miss a local story.
