A series of small buildings along Fulton Street came crushing down in recent weeks clearing three-quarters of an acre in the Mural District for a small city park.
Yep, that’s right — a park in downtown Fresno.
The $2.5 million pocket park is between Calaveras and San Joaquin streets, just east of Granville Homes’ new Brio! on Broadway development.
My colleague George Hostetter has written about the park. There will be grass, an adult exercise area, a playground for 2- to 5-year-olds and places to sit, he wrote in August.
The park is slated for completion next year.
Granville is working on Brio’s three-story apartment building now. Tenants of those units will overlook the park. Brio!, which has a two-story building along Broadway Street, is expected to open early next year.
