In San Francisco, $1 million doesn’t buy much real estate these days.

But in Fresno and other major California cities it can buy a big old house.

In May, a $1.1 million, 4,623-square-foot home with six bedrooms and seven bathrooms sold on North Van Ness Boulevard in northwest Fresno.
