BoNhia Lee on what's going down and going up in the Valley market

De Young Properties doesn’t show any signs of slowing down. The Clovis builder started selling homesites in its Park View community at Sierra and Temperance avenues last weekend.

Nearly half of the 35 sites sold in the first eight hours of the pre-grand opening event, the company said.

Houses in Park View will be built on large lots up to 11,045 square feet. That’s a change from the downturn when home sites and sizes were a lot smaller. De Young’s smallest home site, in its Justin Pointe development, is 6,000 square feet.

The cost of the 1,703 to 3,862 square foot homes will start in the upper $200,000s.

Across town, McCaffrey Homes broke ground last month on a new portion of its existing northwest Fresno development.

The Gallery in Fresno is a 33-lot neighborhood at Herndon and Hayes avenues, just east of Highway 99. The 1,308-square-foot to 2,245-square-foot model homes can be seen at the builder’s Clovis location at Ashlan and DeWolf avenues. Prices start in the $230,000s
