Michael E. McCann, chief executive officer of Proteus Inc. in Visalia, will retire Sept. 2 after more than 32 years at the nonprofit organization.
He has served as CEO since 2000.
Robert Alcazar, executive director and chief operating officer, will succeed McCann, the organization announced Thursday.
McCann joined Proteus Inc. in 1984 as data systems manager. He has also served as chief financial officer.
Proteus Inc. is a community-based organization serving farmworkers and other low-income residents in Fresno, Kings, Kern, Tulare and Los Angeles counties by offering adult basic and vocational education, job training and other services.
