Shaw Hotel Group LLC has announced that the Holiday Inn Visalia will become Wyndham Visalia.
Shaw has owned the property since 2004 and the current 10-year Holiday Inn license agreement is expiring. The hotel will join Wyndham Hotels and Resorts under a 15-year agreement, management company AltaMont Hotels, Inc. said.
The five-story, 256-room hotel will undergo a $6 million renovation and upgrade, with redesigned guest bedrooms and baths, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and redesign of the Café California restaurant and Mahoganys Lounge.
The lobby will be upgraded to accommodate a more socially interactive guest, and improvements made to meeting rooms, banquet areas and ballroom facilities.
The hotel was built in 1977. The brand conversion will coincide with the completion of the renovations, which AltaMont Hotels hopes will be in September.
