Seven local banks headquartered in the central San Joaquin Valley have been included in the 2015 edition of the Findley Reports ratings of high-performing banks based on their financial performance in 2014.
The rankings by the Southern California-based Findley Companies, a financial analysis firm, list banks on three tiers: “Super Premier,” “Premier” and “Commendable” performing institutions. Valley banks on the top super premier tier are Fresno First Bank, Murphy Bank and Premier Valley Bank, all in Fresno; and Valley Business Bank in Visalia. Murphy Bank, Premier Valley and Valley Business Bank were also on the 2014 list of super premier banks. Fresno First Bank was not among the top three tiers in 2014.
Security First Bank in Fresno was the lone local bank on Findley’s 2015 commendable list. The bank did not make the top three tiers in 2014.
Two local banks slipped off the 2015 list after having been rated last year. Fresno’s Central Valley Community Bank was on the 2014 premier tier, while Suncrest Bank in Visalia was commendable last year.
The Findley Report ratings consider a range of publicly available financial data from banks, including growth in gross assets, deposits, loans or income, operating income or loss, and equity return.
