Former Fresno Bee publisher Ray Steele will be recognized with the Fresno Chamber of Commerce’s top community recognition, the Leon S. Peters Award, at the chamber’s annual Valley Business Awards luncheon next week.
The luncheon is from noon to 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Fresno Convention Center’s New Exhibit Hall, 848 M St. in downtown Fresno.
In addition to the Peters award for Steele, the chamber will also present its array of Entrepreneur of the Year awards: the Harold Zinkin Award for enterprises in business for more than seven years businesses, going to menswear retailer Patrick James; the Rising Star Award for businesses that are seven or fewer years old, to Deli Delicious; the College Entrepreneur Award to Broadway Motion Design; and the High School Entrepreneur Award to Poppy’s Jam.
