The newest Chick-fil-A restaurant in Fresno opened at 6:30 a.m. Thursday at Fashion Fair mall.
The opening capped a night in which about 150 people camped out in the parking lot beginning at 6 a.m. Wednesday. The first 100 in line at got a year of free Chick-fil-A food and spent the night being entertained by a DJ and eating free meals from the restaurant.
The restaurant, with a drive-through and a play area, is in the mall’s parking lot, between BJ’s Restaurant and Brewhouse and First Street.
More Chick-fil-A restaurants are in the works for the area.
“We do have another going in Clovis,” said Blake Roberts, a consultant with the restaurant’s home office in Atlanta.
He declined to say where in Clovis because the deal isn’t finalized, but said it is expected to open in the next year or two.
There also is the possibility of another Fresno location in the next five years, he said.
