Veterans across the central San Joaquin Valley planted flags and saluted the colors Monday in preparation for the Valley's annual Veterans Day celebrations.

Today, thousands of people are expected to celebrate the holiday at the 89th anniversary of Fresno's Veterans Day parade. The festivities begin at 11 a.m. on P Street across from Fresno City Hall.
