Cardoza announces run for fourth term

Rep. Dennis Cardoza said Friday he'll run for re-election for a fourth term representing the 18th congressional district.

"I'm pleased and fired up that I'm running again, and we will win in 2010," the congressman told an audience of about 1,000, according to a news release from his office.

Cardoza's 18th district contains Merced County and parts of Stanislaus, San Joaquin, Fresno and Madera counties.

Mike Berryhill, 62, a Ceres rancher and a Turlock Irrigation District director who is a member of a prominent political family, is running against Cardoza.
