Marathon will close Fresno, Clovis roads

Road closures have been announced in Fresno and Clovis in preparation for the Two Cities Marathon and Half Marathon on Nov. 8.

Willow Avenue will remain open at all times during the event and will be the main northbound and southbound route available. But officials ask motorists to be aware of several major road closures.

Roads closed from 5 a.m. to 2 p.m.: Friant Road between Audubon Road and Willow Avenue; Audubon from Friant to Del Mar Avenue.

Roads closed from 6 to 11:30 a.m.: Shepherd Avenue intersections at Chestnut, Maple and Cedar avenues; Shepherd westbound from Friant Road to Willow Avenue.

Shepherd eastbound will be closed from 6 to 8:30 a.m. and the Teague and Willow avenues intersection will be closed from 6 to 11 a.m.

Road closures in Clovis between 7 and 11 a.m.:

Peach Avenue and Alluvial Avenue at the Old Town Clovis Trail crossing; Pollasky Avenue between the Old Town Clovis Trail exit and Eighth Street; Clovis Avenue between Fifth and Eighth streets; Clovis Avenue southbound between Fifth Street and Sierra Avenue; Eighth Street between Pollasky and Clovis avenues; Fifth Street between Pollasky and Sunnyside avenues; Sunnyside Avenue between Fifth Street and David E. Cook Way; Tollhouse Avenue between Sunnyside and Fowler avenues; Fowler Avenue southbound between Tollhouse and Los Altos avenues; Los Altos Avenue and David E. Cook Way, at Clovis Adult School.
