The Fresno City Council voted Thursday to make three new designations to the Local Register of Historic Resources.

Among the resources was the six-square-block Wilson Island area, south of Fresno High School. The early 20th-century tract has 80 houses and was an early home to the city's business class.

A home at 660 E. Carmen Ave., in Wilson Island, was also added individually. So were a pair of homes at 164 N. Echo Ave., one of which is estimated to have been built in 1884, which would make it the city's oldest surviving residence.
