A man found lying beside a southwest Fresno road with a gunshot wound to the head later died in a hospital, police said Saturday.
Fresno police said they found the man, whom they did not identify, about midnight Friday on the 300 block of East Tuolumne Avenue. He was taken to Community Regional Medical Center in downtown Fresno, where he died.
No one has been arrested, and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
It was the 36th homicide this year in Fresno. Last year at this time, there were 35 homicides.
