The tail of a Northern California storm dropped spotty rain across the central San Joaquin Valley on Monday, but skies should clear today and temperatures are expected to begin rising by Wednesday, the National Weather Service said.
Trace amounts of rain fell in Fresno, while Madera and Merced received 0.02 of an inch and Hanford, 0.01 an inch.
The storm hit hardest north of the San Joaquin Valley, said David Spector, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Hanford.
Sacramento got 0.17 of an inch, and Redding got a third of an inch, according to weather service data.
Snow and ice prompted Yosemite National Park officials to close Glacier Point Road and Tioga Road.
Park spokeswoman Kari Cobb said higher temperatures expected today may allow the roads to be reopened.
Today's high in Yosemite Valley is forecast to be 64 degrees.
The cables on Half Dome have been taken down for the season.
The cables are taken down each fall and reinstalled in the spring.
Today's high temperature in Fresno is expected to match Monday's high of 69 degrees.
By Wednesday, high temperatures should begin to rise, gradually reaching the upper 70s by Friday.
Fresno's normal high for this time of year is 77.
