Convicted drunken driver Dylan Morse, son of Merced County District Attorney Larry Morse II, will be resentenced Dec. 2 for causing a fatal collision that killed one man and injured two people, a Sonoma County judge decided Wednesday.

Judge Kenneth Gnoss set the new date during a hearing in Sonoma County Superior Court. Morse, 19, was arrested Feb. 14 after causing a two-car collision near Cotati. Morse smashed into a Honda driven by Alexander Ruiz, 22, of Oakland, killing him.

Visalia man gets more than 10 years in molestation of two girls

A 44-year-old Visalia man has been sentenced to more than a decade in prison for molesting two girls and taking pornographic pictures of them. Tulare County Superior Court Judge James Hollman sentenced Ronald Hopper, 44, to 10 years and eight months in prison.

One girl was 5 years old, the other was 8. The mother of one of the girls found pictures that included Hopper's hand and turned him in. Investigators found another picture on his computer. Hopper pleaded no contest Oct. 15. He must serve 85% of the sentence before being eligible for parole.
