African Children’s Choir coming to Clovis, Reedley
The African Children’s Choir will perform at churches in Clovis and Reedley on Sunday, July 24. The concert will feature lively African songs and dances, along with popular children’s songs, traditional spirituals and gospel favorites from children with the nonprofit humanitarian and relief organization that is dedicated to helping Africa’s most vulnerable children. Sunday’s performances will be held at 8:15 a.m. and 10:50 a.m. at Reedley Mennonite Brethren Church, 1362 L St., Reedley, and at 7 p.m. at Clovis Evangelical Free Church, 2377 Armstrong Ave., Clovis. The concerts are free, but donations are accepted. Music for Life, the choir’s parent organization, says it has provided education for more than 52,000 children and collectively helped more than 100,000 people in Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Sudan, Nigeria, Ghana and South Africa. The African Children’s Choir has performed for a number of dignitaries, most recently Queen Elizabeth II, and has sung alongside artists including Paul McCartney, Keith Urban and Mariah Carey.
