Islamic Cultural Center of Fresno stresses ‘terror knows no religion’
The Islamic Cultural Center of Fresno on Tuesday released another statement praying for victims of “violence, terror and oppression everywhere” and reminding the community that “terror knows no religion.” The center cited a number of recent terror attacks around the globe, including an attack outside one of Islam’s holiest sites, at the Prophet’s Mosque in Medina, Saudi Arabia, where Prophet Muhammad is buried.
“Victims of terrorism are of all walks of life and the greatest number of casualties, by far, are Muslims,” the center wrote. “Those responsible for the attacks are not Muslim and not of any religion. The news is heart wrenching each and every time and it is far too often. … The Islamic Cultural Center of Fresno stands against terror, killing, and violence and urges our governments to work, united across political, religious and racial lines, to stand against these thugs and criminals who are out to destroy all of us.”
