It is craft beer festival season in the Valley and the next chance to sample all kinds of beer is Saturday, May 9, at the Fresno-Madera Craft Beer Festival.
This one is at ApCal Wine Tasting & Events Center at 32749 Avenue 7, Madera, just north of Fresno, from 2-6 p.m.
About 45 breweries will be serving more than 100 craft beers. A full list of breweries participating is online and includes Dust Bowl Brewing, Hangar 24, Clown Shoes Brewing and Lagunitas. At least five Valley breweries will be there, too.
Organizers say one thing that makes this craft beer festival different is the setting. No parking lot or blocked off street here, but a green expanse with a big leafy oak tree that’s surrounded by vineyards.
Never miss a local story.
Bands Night Heat and The Wild Hare will provide live music.
Tickets cost $45 at the gate, $35 in advance online at apcalwine.com. Designated drivers who will not be drinking cost $10.
“It’s going to be a packed house,” says ApCal owner Darren Schmall. “We’ll actually probably have to cut off ticket sales at the gate.”
Buy tickets online to be sure to get in. The price includes a glass, unlimited samples, soda, juice and water.
Food will be available for purchase from Mattie’s Pizza, The Smoke Joint and the Mediterranean Grill.
Sober driver service will be provided by We B Sober and Uber.
