What do a Kardashian cousin, Rod Stewart’s ex-wife and a skin-care line have in common?
Yes, really. Kara Kardashian – a cousin to the famous Kim, Khloé and Kourtney Kardashian – lives in Fresno.
She’s partnered with Alana Stewart to create anti-aging skin-care products that they’ll launch at the Central California Women’s Conference Sept. 19.
Stewart is an author, actress, former model and ex-wife of singer Rod Stewart and actor George Hamilton. She was also close friends with actress Farrah Fawcett, and now heads the Farrah Fawcett Foundation focused on cancer prevention and awareness. But she lives in Beverly Hills – not Fresno.
We have been working on it for about a year and our debut is going to be in Fresno.

When not working on the skin care line, Kardashian is a lawyer by trade and currently the chief operating officer of a local trailer manufacturing company.
The EraseExtreme line the pair will sell for the first time at the conference includes a $90 rejuvenating spray, an $84 regenerating gel serum and a $70 moisturizer. The products will soon be available online at EraseExtreme.com.
Kardashian said people can tell the spray starts working immediately because it tingles.
“It actually will turn your face slightly pink or a little bit red,” she said. “It’s rejuvenating from the inside out.”
That’s niacin bringing blood to the surface, Stewart said, adding that it “increases your circulation and promotes collagen and elastin growth.”
The color lasts about 10 to 15 minutes.
Kimberly Stewart grew up with Kourntey and Kim.

Kardashian will be at EraseExtreme’s booth at the conference and Stewart hopes to make it to the event.
Despite their fame and last names, both women sounded reluctant to use name recognition to sell the products.
“They don’t have anything to do with the product,” Kardashian said of her famous cousins.
About her last name, Kardashian said: “I’m not really using it. ...The brand name is EraseExtreme. People are obviously going to know [the last name].”
The Kardashian name certainly draws plenty of attention, especially when it’s paired with a name that begins with the letter K.
Kara has sisters named Krista and Kourtni, echoing the trend of their famous cousins.
But, Kara Kardashian noted, her family started that trend.
“My mom is the one that started it,” she said, noting that she’s the oldest of the bunch and was born and raised here.
Kara’s father is a cousin to Robert Kardashian, who is the father of Kim, Khloé and Kourtney Kardashian and also one of the lawyers who defended O.J. Simpson during his murder trial
Kara Kardashian and Stewart met through a mutual friend. Stewart’s daughter with Rod Stewart, Kimberly – who is a model, fashion designer and reality TV star – is friends with the Kardashian sisters, too.
“Kimberly Stewart grew up with Kourtney and Kim,” Alana Stewart said.
Though they’re selling an anti-aging product, age is a reluctant topic for the pair. A news release says only that Stewart is in her “seventh decade” and Kardashian is in her fourth.
Stewart said she has a theory about aging that she got from Deepak Chopra, the author who is household name in the New Age movement.
“He said, ‘Alana, don’t talk about age. If you don’t think about aging, you will be ageless,’” she said.
Stewart would rather spend her time talking about the skin-care products and her partnership with Kardashian. Stewart said she has sensitive skin, which can make finding an anti-aging product challenging, but the product is making her skin look plumper.
“It worked on both of us and we thought that was kind of amazing,” she said. “I figure if I can use this almost anyone can.”
