The Fresno Bee once again wants to connect organizations in need of volunteers with local people who are willing to help.

Whether it's volunteering at a senior citizens community, serving a holiday meal to someone who might not have one or giving time to a local animal shelter, there are many opportunities in the central San Joaquin Valley.

On Tuesday, Nov. 24, in the Life section, we’ll publish a list of volunteer opportunities.

To do that, we need your help. We want all nonprofit organizations that need local volunteers between Nov. 26 through New Year’s Day to send information about their needs.

Submissions should include the organization’s name, address, a brief description of the volunteer help needed and a phone number, which will be published, where people can call for more information.

Please note any special age, language skills or other requirements needed.

If your organization needs volunteers year-round, send us those opportunities, as well. Be sure to state the length of time you will need these volunteers.

Send informaion via e-mail to features@fresnobee.com (put "Holiday volunteers" in the subject line), by fax to (559) 441-6457 or by mail to Holiday Volunteers, Features, The Fresno Bee, P.O. Box 12504, Fresno, CA 93788.

The deadline is Tuesday, Nov. 17.
