The Berkeley Fire Department documented their harrowing journey to the scene of the Tubbs Fire, which leveled neighborhoods in Santa Rosa and killed several people. The fire department is asking people to donate to the Sonoma County resilience fund, Sonoma County Recovers and Marin Humane.
The Point Estero, a fishing vessel out of Morro Bay, crashed into rocks on its way back to Morro Bay Harbor from a fishing excursion on July 28, 2017. A cat was rescued by Sonoma County sheriff’s deputies on Oct. 13, 2017, in a neighborhood of Santa Rosa that had been badly damaged by the Tubbs Fire. This footage shows the deputies coaxing the cat out of hiding from underneath a vehicle. According to reports, the cat’s name was Milo, and its paws had been burned in the fire. Milo was reunited with its owner, Ed Ratliff, shortly after the video was posted on YouTube. Ratliff lost his home in the fire.

The new San Luis Obispo County Regional Airport terminal's official opening date is Nov. 1, 2017. The facility is 56,000 square feet — almost 40,000 square feet larger than the existing terminal. High ceilings and a new outdoor courtyard are among the highlights of the new building.

The crowds enjoy a long procession of huge antique tractors, steam engines, horse-drawn wagons, local marching bands, vintage cars, and more.
