Yosemite National Park rangers say they now know the name of a man who reportedly fell into the Merced River but have yet to find him.
His name is not being released at this time, according to an update on Yosemite National Park’s Facebook page.
He was hiking the park’s popular Mist Trail when he fell into the river about 12:30 p.m. Monday, according to park officials. Searchers are continuing to look for him.
The missing man is described as 6 feet 2 inches tall, possibly in his 20s, with a shaved or bald head, blue shirt, red or tan shorts, no backpack, and carrying a hiking pole.
