Car wars: The cable channel Velocity is taking viewers inside the search for America’s top automotive builder in “SEMA: Battle of the Builders” to air at 8 p.m. Sunday, March 8.
The one-hour special chronicles the competition held at the 2014 SEMA Show where more than 100 car builders from across the country entered their creations in the hopes of winning bragging rights and the title of America’s finest automotive builder.
Hosted by Adrienne Janic and Chris Kersting, President and CEO of SEMA, the special follows three expert judges (David Freiburger, Editor-in-Chief of Hot Rod Magazine; Sam Du, Editor-in-Chief of Super Street Magazine; and Fred Williams, Brand Manager of Peterson’s 4Wheel & Off Road) as they narrow the field from more than 100 entries – spanning several automotive categories – to just 10 semi-finalists.
New show: The Disney Channel has ordered a spin-off series of the comedy “Jessie.” Peyton List, Karan Brar and Skai Jackson reprise their roles of Emma, Ravi and Zuri Ross, respectively. The new show — which has not been named — will begin production in spring 2015.
Hammer time: Chris Hemsworth will make his “Saturday Night Live” hosting debut Saturday, March 7.
Hemsworth’s past credits include “Rush,” “Snow White and the Huntsman” and global box office hits “Thor” and “The Avengers.” His next feature-film appearances will be in the highly anticipated “Avengers: Age of Ultron,” “In the Heart of the Sea” and “Vacation.”
Zac Brown Band will also make their “SNL” debut on the telecast. The three-time Grammy winning artists are one of music’s most heralded acts, with over seven million albums sold to date. The band’s three platinum-selling albums have produced a historic series of eleven No. 1 hit singles.
