Those of you who are fans of the Live Well Network will be able to watch programs like “Motion” and “My Family Recipe Rocks!” a bit longer.
In June, Disney announced the network — seen locally on ABC30 (KFSN, Channel 30.2) — would end mid-January.
Dan Adams, KFSN president and general manager, reports that while production will cease on new shows on Jan. 16, the local ABC station will continue to broadcast reruns of Live Well Network shows. It can be seen via antenna on channel 30.2 or on Comcast Channel 709.
“Motion,” the outdoor exploration series created by Fresno’s Jeff Aiello, also can been seen on the Outside Television channel available to Comcast subscribers. Disney, which owns the Live Well network, has sold 85 of the 100 episodes to Outside Television.
Never miss a local story.
Aiello says the reason not all of the episodes were sold is because of the poor quality of the first few shows.
“Motion” was part of the digital channel’s lifestyle programming that has aired locally on KFSN (Channel 30.2) since it launched in 2009. “Motion,” produced through KFSN, was part of the Live Well programming created across the country that was fed through Fresno for distribution.
Aiello has moved on to his next project, “True North,” a series that takes another look at exploring the great outdoors. The pilot episode, on the rugged shoreline of Big Sur, can be viewed at vimeo.com/user11165303/review/114579997/c4735c0842.
“We are in talks with two different outlets to show the series,” Aiello says. “It would be great if all of the ‘Motion’ fans would help support the new series.”
Aiello would not say who was in the running to distribute the series, but he did say being on public television would be a dream come true.
