Local creators of the animated series “Fresberg” have put together a tribute to ESPN anchor Stuart Scott.
The tribute is scheduled for the episode that will air at 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. Friday, Jan. 9, on Community Media Access Collaborative (CMAC), which is available on Comcast Channel 93 and AT&T Channel 99.
Scott, who had cancer, died Sunday, Jan. 4.
Roshell and Franky Franklin have created the animated series from the bedroom in their west Fresno home, using a single laptop computer, since 2013. Roshell Franklin says the Jan. 9 episode looks at how children deal when those close to them become ill.
“This episode also hits home for me, as the character Granny Maxine is actually my real life grandmother who raised me. She passed away due to bone cancer almost two years ago,” she says.
They have dedicated the episode to Scott, “who kept the faith and kept the fight,” Franklin says.
