"Lost" and found: The Emmy Award-winning animated series "Phineas and Ferb" pays homage to ABC's "Lost" with a special episode featuring a story by "Lost" co-creator and writer Damon Lindelof and guest starring "Lost" fan-favorite Terry O'Quinn (John Locke). It will air at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 29.
The episode, "Lost in Danville," also guest stars Jane Kaczmarek ("Malcolm in the Middle") and Rob Morrow ("Numb3rs").
A mysterious locked capsule falls into Phineas and Ferb's back yard and they struggle to open it, only to discover they have unleashed something they cannot control. Meanwhile, Perry learns that Dr. Doofenshmirtz has been abducted and tracks him to Seattle where another evil scientist Professor Mystery has his own sinister plan.
In memory: "Rebuilding the World Trade Center," Marcus Robinson's documentary chronicling the reconstruction of the World Trade Center and restoration of the New York City skyline, premieres at 6 p.m. Sept. 11 on History. The two-hour special — eight years in the making, from laying of the first foundation to topping the gleaming new 104-story One World Trade Center with its spire — focuses on the construction workers who performed the Herculean task.
Robinson, an Irish artist and filmmaker renowned for architectural and industrial photography, arrived on the site in 2006, five years after the original World Trade Center was destroyed in the Sept. 11 attacks. He placed 13 cameras throughout the site to document eight years of progress with time-lapse imagery, and shadowed workers every step of the way as they turned a pile of ashes into a towering testament to imagination and resilience.
Casting news: Steven Strait ("Magic City") and Emmy winner and Oscar nominee Shohreh Aghdashloo ("House of Sand and Fog") will star in "The Expanse," the new 10-episode space opera based on the best-selling book series, premiering on Syfy in 2015.
Strait plays Holden, an officer on the ice-carrying freighter the Canterbury. Holden is a natural leader who is not sure he wants responsibility, but who soon will have no choice when he is drawn into a dangerous plot.
