Regis Philbin is racking up air miles. To make an appearance at Chukchansi Gold Resort & Casino, he's had to charter a plane to get from a Detroit show today to the Fresno performance Saturday and back to New York on Sunday in time for Ivanka Trump's wedding.

"I am traveling in planes, cars and maybe a camel. My manager keeps saying everything will work out," Philbin says during a telephone interview from New York just moments after wrapping up the day's episode of "LIVE! with Regis and Kelly."

Under normal circumstances, Philbin's appearance could have been shifted but he's scheduled to be part of the casino's "Your Dream, Your Home" giveaway of $100,000.

And, there's no way Philbin would miss Trump's daughter's wedding.

"I missed Donald's [Trump] wedding because I was performing in Vancouver. He has never let me forget it. The problem is you sign these contracts six months in advance and then something happens," Philbin says.

These things happen when you're the busiest man in television. Every day, Philbin adds to his record for most hours on camera -- an actual entry in the Guinness Book of World Records. He set the mark at 16,100 hours last year, and the total continues to climb with his daytime talk show and game show appearances as both host and contestant.

The Emmy-winning Philbin's TV career covers more than four decades and includes "The Joey Bishop Show," "The Regis Philbin Show," "Who Wants To Be A Millionaire," "America's Got Talent" and "Walt Disney World Christmas Day Parade" along with appearances on "Jeopardy!" and "Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader?" Philbin was inducted into the National Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame and the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences' Hall of Fame in 2006.

Philbin's been seen so much on TV, his appearance at the casino might be a little confusing.

"I will have people ask me, 'Are you going to cook?' I will say, 'No lady, I am not!" Philbin says with his trademark shout. "What I am going to do is a little bit of everything. I will be singing mostly standards because there are very few new songs to sing."

He's got the albums to prove he can sing: "When You're Smiling," "It's Time for Regis!" and "The Regis Philbin Christmas Album."

About a dozen times a year, Philbin hits the road to perform his show, a mix of music, storytelling and audience participation. He says he's not tired of the talk and game show genres that have made him famous, but he enjoys something different.

Philbin arrives via his charter flight armed with lots of information about Fresno. In the interview, he mentions Fresno State football and his love of raisins. He says he'd really like to talk to Guy Salmas, a member of the '50s singers the Salmas Brothers, who he's heard lives in Fresno. He's hoping Salmas comes to his show.

If the meeting happens, it'll have to be quick. Philbin's got a plane to catch.
