The threat of rain means an uncertain fate for upcoming dates in The Big Fresno Fair’s concert series. Fair officials said Monday that performers have ultimate discretion on whether to cancel a concert should it rain.
“We’re telling people to bring their umbrellas,” said fair spokeswoman Danielle Lebouef. “A lot of artists want to perform no matter what.”
The fair has concerts with contemporary Christian singer Michael W. Smith (tonight), Tex-Mex rockers Los Lobos (Wednesday) and Stone Temple Pilots (Thursday). Lebouef recalls it sprinkling some at concerts in recent years and the show continuing. The seating area at the fair’s Paul Paul Theatre is not covered, but part of the stage is.
If a concert is canceled, the fair would refund the cost of tickets.
