UPDATE 8:30 a.m. Feb. 9: While single tickets for the national tour of “The Phantom of the Opera” officially go on sale Friday, Feb. 12, the Broadway in Fresno series is promoting a special “presale” code that lets you buy tickets early online or by calling the box office.
By using the code “musical,” you can buy tickets for the show, which runs Oct. 5-16 at the Saroyan Theatre.
ORIGINAL STORY: If you’ve been waiting for a chance to purchase single tickets for the most-anticipated Fresno theater event of the year, you can mark your calendar for Feb. 12.
At 10 a.m. that day, tickets for Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “The Phantom of the Opera” go on sale, the promoter for the show announced Wednesday. The musical plays Oct. 5-16 at the Saroyan Theatre. Until then, the only way to obtain tickets is as part of a Broadway in Fresno season ticket package.
This new version of “Phantom,” with new design and staging, is one of the largest productions on tour in North America and is the same show that played last year in San Francisco and has been touring to major cities. It is performed by a cast and orchestra of 52.
