Sage Francis was born out of the emcee battle circuit, an independent rapper and spoken-word poet whose credentials spill over into the punk and rock world. He released three albums as the first hip-hop artist signed to the iconic indie-label Epitaph Records and was featured on an album from the punk band Bad Religion. He has since parted ways with the record label and releases his work on his own Strange Famous Records. The rapper kicks of a West Coast tour on Saturday and is in town Wednesday at Fulton 55.
