Singer and television personality Larry Hernandez will perform Oct. 8. Hernandez made a name in the late 2000s with a selection of narco corridos (his 2009 album was titled 16 16 “Narco Corridos”). He later became star of his reality television series “Larrymania.” The show is in its fifth season on NBC Universo.
Ramon Ayala will close out the fair’s entertainment on Oct. 15. Ayala, known as the “King of the Accordion,” is considered a pioneer of modern norteño music.
Both artists should be well-known to local audiences. Hernandez played in 2015 at the annual Fiestas Patrias celebration on Fresno’s Fulton Mall. Ayala played in July at Eagle Mountain Casino near Porterville. Tickets for both shows are $15-$20 and available 9 a.m. Tuesday to BFF club members.
The fair has now announced all but one performer for this year’s concert series. That includes country singer Chris Young; the Kingdom Come Christian concert; classic rock band Chicago; ’90s rockers Goo Goo Dolls; rapper Ice Cube; Granger Smith, Earl Dibble Jr. and Jackson Michelson; Beach Boy Brian Wilson playing “Pet Sounds;” comedian Gabriel Iglesias and the R&B soul duo Ja Rule and Ashanti.
Pre-sale tickets to all shows are available to BFF club members 9 a.m. Tuesday and on sale to the general public Aug. 14.
