Fresh 'Call Girl' comes to DVD

"Secret Diary of a Call Girl: Season Two" Grade B+: The series about the life of Belle, a high priced prostitute, works because of Billie Piper's performance. Her straightforward approach makes the character both powerful and vulnerable.
The second season of the series that originally aired on Showtime focuses on what happens when Belle commits the ultimate sin: she falls in love.
She struggles with how much of her life she should reveal and the consequences of sharing her story.
As a bonus, Piper was pregnant during the filming of this season.
Its fun to stop the DVD to see how her pregnancy was hidden.
"Eureka: Season 3.0" Grade B+: This Sci-Fi Channel series improved each season because of the growth of Sheriff Jack Carter, the character played by Colin Ferguson.
Carter keeps the peace in a town full of geniuses who are always creating weird and fantastic inventions.
The first two seasons put Carter in the role of dumb fish out of water. He's less Barney Fife and more Andy Taylor in the third year. Carter's still amazed but not flabbergasted by the world around him.
"Entourage: The Complete Fifth Season" Grade B: The HBO series about a young actor (Adrian Grenier) and the guys who hang with him is one of the steadiest comedies on TV.
The HBO series could have collapsed into a series of Hollywood insider jokes. Instead, it is a smart story about success, failure, love and loss.
It doesn't hurt that Jeremy Piven turns in a flawless performance as superagent Ari Gold each episode.

"12 Rounds": A New Orleans detective (John Cena) must solve a series of puzzles to save his girlfriend.

"Lucille Ball Specials": Includes the Lucile Ball TV programs "Lucy Gets Lucky" and "Three For Two."
"The Queens of Country": The DVD collection looks at Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn and Patsy Cline.
"RiP! A Remix Mainifesto": The documentary examines file sharing.
"Parker Lewis Can't Lose: Season One": Corin Nemec plays the always cool high school student.
"Princess Protection Program": Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez star in this story of how a would-be queen learns to be a regular teen.
"Stargate Atlantis: The Complete Fifth Season": Joe Flanigan stars in the Sci Fi Channel series.
"Street Fighter: The Legend of Chun-Li": Kristin Kreuk stars in this film based on the popular video game.
"Tunnel Rats": U.S. soldiers fight the Viet Cong in the endless maze of tunnels under the jungles of Vietnam.
"Two Lovers": Joaquin Phoenix and Vinessa Shaw star in this love story.
"White Sox Memories: The Greatest Moments in Chicago White Sox History": Highlights from the 108 history of the major league baseball team.
"Nostradamus 2012": The A&E offering looks at the predicted end of life in 2012.
