Changes are on the way for the Regal Manchester Stadium 16.
Just weeks after the local theater complex applied for a license with Alcohol Beverage Control to sell beverages like wine and beer, Regal Entertainment Group has revealed a renovation plan that will mean replacing every seat in the local movie complex.
All of the seats in Manchester Stadium 16 will be replaced with recliners. If you want to see what the new seats look like, there are two samples on display in the theater’s lobby.
“Regal is redefining the level of comfort at this theater. Our guests will soon be able to stretch out, relax and recline while watching the movie,” says Rob Del Moro, chief technical and theater operations officer at Regal Entertainment Group, in the news release. “Regal constantly listens to our guests and looks for ways to improve. With this new concept, these luxurious recliners have scored extremely well.”
Work is scheduled for completion in January.
Further details on the renovation are scarce. Regal did not release information on how the construction work will be handled. Management did not respond to questions on how the renovation will affect moviegoers, including whether Manchester will be shut down while the work is done or if seats will be added in waves.
Because the seats are bigger, the change will likely mean a decrease in capacity in each theater.
There is also no word on whether ticket prices will increase.
By Regal Entertainment Group policy, local Manchester Stadium 16 general manager Lynette Clark cannot comment.
The news release does not mention any changes at the company’s other Fresno theaters, which include UA Broadway Faire Stadium 10, Edwards Fresno Stadium 22 & IMAX and UA Clovis Movies 8.
