In an effort to draw in younger “StarW ars” fans, ABC launched the “Ewoks and Droids Adveture Hour” in 1986 as part of its Saturday morning cartoon block.
Yes, that was a time when Saturday morning programming was fun.
The show included episodes of “Star Wars: Ewoks” and “Star Wars; Droids.”
“Droids” told the story of R2-D2 and C-3PO before thy joined up with Luke Skywalker. Anthony Daniels was the voice of C-3PO. “Ewoks” looked at the life of Wicket W. Warroick before the Battle for Endor.
As with all “Star Wars” projects, this show spawned merchandising that included books, comic books and action figures (as shown here).
