“Star Wars” collectors love to find rare and unusual items. That’s why the press kits sent to members of the media for the movies are popular.
A press kit includes information about the movie, cast and crew. Years ago, there would be a handful of photographs that were used in any news coverage. These days, photos are found on web sites as is most of the information.
And, it’s not just the press kits sent out by the movie studios that have gotten attention. One of the most coveted “Star War” press kits was sent to journalists in 2005 by Hasbro.
The material was to promote the toys being released in connection with “Star Wars: Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.”
Never miss a local story.
What makes it so popular is that the press kit contains a small Darth Vader and Anakin Skywalker figure. They are built into the cover in such a way that Anakin’s figure can be seen on the front and then it spins around to reveal Darth Vader when the press kit is opened.
One such pres kit has a starting bid of $475 on ebay.
