Thanks to the “The Rachael Ray Show,” Erica Robinson will be in Phoenix Sunday, Feb. 1, to watch her favorite NFL Team the Seattle Seahawks take on the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XLIX.
Robinson was the winner of the second annual “Fantasy Foodball” cooking competition on Rachael Ray’s talk show, which airs at 3 p.m. weekdays on KGPE (Channel 47.1). Super fans of the Seahawks, Patriots, Colts and Packers were invited to compete in the studio to win tickets to this year’s Super Bowl.
Two of the four competitors were from Fresno. Cynthia Saavedra, a Patriots fan, made “Wicked Good” lobster sliders.
Robinson — a Seahawks fan since she was a kid because she has family in Seattle — cooked fried buffalo shrimp with homemade blue cheese dressing.
“I make buffalo wings for the Super Bowl every year. I knew if I was going to be on ‘Rachael Ray’ I had to kick it up,” says Robinson, a teacher at Clovis North Educational Center.
ESPN Radio’s Mike Greenberg picked the winner.
Robinson says it was only 36 hours after she applied to be on the show that she was flown to New York for the battle. It was a week between the taping and the announcement and the only person she could tell was her boyfriend, so he could make arrangements for the Super Bowl trip.
