Aaron Judge is everywhere.
Even non-sports fan have probably seen his name (if not his face) up lately. Last week it was the cover of Sports Illustrated. This week it was in USA Today’s Sports Weekly magazine. Then, last night Jimmy Fallon set up the New York Yankees rookie phenom (and former Fresno State Bulldog) in a park to see if fans would recognize him.
They did not, which is good for some laughs.
Never miss a local story.
To be fair, Judge was sitting down and not in his uniform, and wore a pair of thick, black-framed nerd glasses, which tends to give people facial blindness (proving that whole “Clark Kent/Superman” thing isn’t as outlandish as it might seem). Also, while Judge is killing it this season (a real sports fan would know the stats) and some are calling him the future of the Yankees, he’s still relatively unknown.
One does wonder how long it will be until Judge gets the full Derek Carr treatment from the Fresno State crowd. #bulldogbornbulldogbred
