Windham Hill is bringing in its big guns for this one. Will Ackerman, founder of the contemporary music label, will emcee an 8 p.m. Saturday concert at the Tower Theatre celebrating the release of “Red Diamonds,” a new album by local composer and pianist Gina Leneé.
We’re giving away two pairs of tickets to the concert, which will feature a number of notable musicians (and Grammy winners). The album features Leneé’s newest original songs produced by Ackerman, described as “expressive, original modern piano compositions.” Included are musical contributions from a number of musicians, including cellist Eugene Friesen (originally from Fresno), percussionist Jeff Haynes, wind instrumentalist Premik Russell Tubbs and bass player Tom Eaton.
The concert is one of my arts picks in Friday’s Seven section.
