The year of the ram will be celebrated Saturday during the 15th annual Chinese New Year Parade and Festival. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday. March 7, in downtown Fresno’s Chinatown.
Festivities start in the parking lot on F Street between Kern and Tulare streets. The parade starts at noon at Mariposa and F streets, runs down F Street and turns right onto Kern, then right onto E St.
The event includes the Gumyo Taiko drummers, lion dance performance teams, free activities for kids, a car show, community outreach information and vendors.
Several food vendors will be selling, including Mexican, Salvadoran, Colombian and Portuguese food, vegetarian Chinese food, virgin piña coladas served in pineapples and coconuts, and boba drinks from the Fresno State Hmong Club.
