Enter the Warzone, quick quips for short attention spans.

Makes perfect sense that Fresno State football coach Pat Hill is so enthusiastic about courting Hispanic fans.

Not only do Hispanics make up a significant chunk of the marketplace, but also many enjoy soccer. Which means they're accustomed to boring offenses that have trouble generating points.

Of all the standout performances from the CIF State Track and Field Championships, the thought of a high school girl (Shafter's Anna Jelmini) heaving the shot put 53 feet, 8 inches simply boggles the mind.

So much for the NBA Finals being Must-See TV.

If tonight's Game 2 is anything like Game 1, "Deadliest Catch" reruns will garner higher ratings. Probably generate more excitement, too.

Now the NCAA is investigating whether a second Memphis basketball player, in addition to star point guard Derrick Rose, actually took his SAT.

Took the SAT? We get the feeling these guys couldn't spell SAT.

Ex-Memphis coach John Calipari couldn't attend the infractions hearing because he's on a trip to China.

Just goes to show how far some coaches will go to escape the long arm of the NCAA.

Lance Armstrong used Twitter to announce the birth of his son Thursday night. Even got little Max his own account, which already has 2,250 followers.

It's all so cute, it makes us want to spit up.

Three words for all those breathless pundits ready to send presumed No. 1 pick Stephen Strasburg directly to the Hall of Fame: Todd Van Poppel.

Lefty Pat Misch, a member of the Fresno Grizzlies rotation and bullpen since 2005, was claimed off waivers by the New York Mets.

Not exactly Misch-ter reliable, but he'll certainly be Misch-ed. (We'll quit now.)

Proof that some things never change: Todd Linden tearing up Triple-A pitching.

Linden (.313, 40 RBIs) recently tripled in three straight games for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, top farm team of the New York Yankees.

A 47-year-old West Virginia woman was indicted last week for using her computer to distribute nude photos of her daughter's cheerleading rival.

Bet Al Gore never thought of that when he invented the Internet.

For no particular reason: Bronswell Patrick.

What a strange start to June. It rained so hard the other night in northwest Fresno the animals started lining up two by two.

Five-time world champion and Olympic silver medalist Michelle Kwan earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Denver.

The way we hear it, Kwan skated through the curriculum.
