Stop sniping at co-worker
Dear Amy: I work with a young woman who wears the most hideous vintage clothing imaginable. Her long, unkempt hair only adds to her Halloween look. Everyone talks about her looks and clothing behind her back.
Should someone say something to her?
She could be very attractive if only she knew how to dress.

TURNAROUND, BACK AND FORTH, LOOKS
14 MONTHS
Q: Dear Dr. Culp, How do I update my resume now that I’m ready to re-enter bio/pharma?
In addition to working full time, I’ve worked in retail on commission part-time, evenings and weekends,18 to 25 hours per week. I didn’t discuss my part-time position at my full-time employer’s. I was laid off in my main field in March, 2007. I’d prefer not to discuss the commission sales position, but my resume is missing a year of work activity. What do I do? Please advise. Ready for full-time employment.

Rove: Palin resignation part of a 'risky strategy'
One of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin's potential presidential rivals said Sunday that her abrupt resignation won't help her dodge scrutiny. President George W. Bush's chief political adviser said her strategy is, at best, unclear.
Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee said Palin's announcement that she would not seek a second term - and leave office before finishing her first - simply doesn't make sense in a conventional political setting. Karl Rove, a longtime Bush counselor, said Palin has engaged in a "risky strategy."
Then again, the pair said, Palin has never been a conventional candidate and her stunning announcement on Friday is what they have come to expect from the Republicans' 2008 vice presidential candidate.

Doctor rescued from the pole faced cancer with serenity and sparkle
In April, the voice came weakly over the phone: "This is Jerri Nielsen FitzGerald. I heard you called me."
I stopped what I was doing at my desk and paid full attention. We had a nice talk about the article I'd written about her in March, an update of the now-familiar inspirational story about her experience as a doctor who was airlifted off Antarctica in 1999 after doing a breast cancer biopsy on herself.
I asked how she was doing. She said she was weak but OK.
Where she lives: Visalia
Occupation, age: Middle school student, 11
Family: Her parents are Jared and Season. She has three siblings, Josh, 13, Jonah, 8, and Brooklyn, 3.
Why should we know her? Chase was selected this year as a regional winner for the Kohl's Kids Who Care Scholarship Program, which started in 2001 and recognizes youth who volunteer in the community.
Chase was among nearly 200 youngsters nationwide honored with $1,000 scholarships. She was recognized for a program she created, Hats-n-Hair From Kids Who Care, that has donated more than 150 baseball-style caps and hair clips to pediatric cancer patients.
Chase was diagnosed with a cancerous brain tumor one and a half years ago and underwent two months of radiation and four months of chemotherapy at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Memphis, Tenn. She started the program while undergoing treatment. The clips, which come in many colors, attach to the back of baseball-style caps to hold a fake ponytail in place; the Burch family has a patent pending. Chase still has hats and hair clips available; those who need them should send an e-mail to fromkidswhocare@yahoo.com.
Chase plans to use the Kohl's scholarship when she goes to college to study to become a fourth-grade teacher.
What are some organizations she belongs to? The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
What are her hobbies? Swimming, reading, acting, kneeboarding, jumping on the trampoline
What would she like to share with others? "You just have to keep a good attitude. No matter what you do, just go with the flow and be happy."
