Borders Group announced this week it will close its Borders Express store in Sierra Vista Mall in Clovis.

The store, formerly a Waldenbooks, was converted to a Borders Express in 2005.

The company is closing 200 mall stores nationwide in an effort to become more profitable. About 130 Waldenbooks stores, which are owned by Borders, and Borders Express stores, will remain open.

The Hanford Borders Express will not close.
