The Fresno West Coalition for Economic Development has named its 2009 Risk Takers and Dream Makers. They are:

-- Pastor Paul Binion, senior pastor of Westside Church of God, who has headed the church since 1977.

-- Alysia Sofios, a local television reporter who shared her home with members of Marcus Wesson's family.

-- Julia Balderas, a retired teacher and community activist.

Also named were United One Productions, a nonprofit organization that restores neighborhoods and works with youths; Bringing Broken Neighborhoods Back to Life, a collaborative between police and faith-based groups; Coast to Coast Petroleum; AT&T; and Juan Cardona, an Edison High School student.

They will be honored Nov. 19 at The Golden Palace.
