Crossroads, the east-central Fresno music venue that closed in August, is under new ownership and looks to be opening next week.

Brothers Paco Villarreal, 34, and Arturo Ybarra, 36, bought Crossroads and hope to reopen it the weekend of Nov. 6. The brothers also own Whisky Creek, a bar at Tulare and Sixth streets.

"Right now the idea is just to take it back to what it was a couple years back," said Villareal of what was once one of Fresno's most active music clubs. It is on the northwest corner of Cedar and Shields avenues.

That vision includes live music, with an all-local night on Thursdays, cover bands on Fridays and a Saturday night that would feature bigger acts from a variety of genres. DJs, an open mic night and a college night also are planned.
